TeaMarrr – One Job
“One Job” is a great song by TeaMarrr. But the Afropunk premiered visual is arguably even greater. Director James Bland brilliantly executes the shared vision of expressing the talented singer’s personality in serval different ways. Mainly: acting, fashion, dancing and of course music. (All at the same time as showing homage to her Haitian heritage too.) Starring in the video is – Lala Milan (from BET’s Boomerang) and Jean Elie (from HBO’s Insecure). “One Job” the single itself is a Soul/Funk/Pop bop (produced by Wicks) showcasing the young songstress’ wide range of talent. I can see the female audiences taking off with this record for sure. A way too relatable narrative, some comedic relief, then the raw but fun lyrics. “Dry your eyes, the f*** you cryin’ for? Where’s your spine? You ain’t got that no more? The d*** is fire. That’s what I signed up for, but after all this time you’re so damn insecure,” the 617 native pens.
