Haasan Barclay – Secret Tape

Haasan Barclay’s music has forever been outside the box. Haasan’s music has forever been eclectic. On the TMTV pages today we have his most recent video: “Secret Tape” which strengthens that sentiment. In the short tripped out visual, directed by J R Alexander, Liv Slaughter and Barclay himself, we see Haasan being groped repeatedly by the hands of women in a bed, in a cloud of purple smoke. As I watched it attentively I tried to listen closely and see if I can draw any comparisons with more mainstream artists in terms of the Mattapan musician’s look and sound. But to no avail – Haasan Barclay surely stands tall in his own lane. A quieter rockstar-type personality maneuvering through hip hop (music overall) via his own accord. “Secret Tape” was a track on his last project: “800 Fantasy Lane” and there’s been no word of a follow-up project. However if you’re familiar with the unique artist then you can rest assure he’s been hard at working on the next EP and can expect some next level magic. Take a look at the video in the TMTV Theater before you leave us a comment below with your thoughts. #TMTV (written by: @NateSaid)
